Ingredients

  • For the Banana Bread:
  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda

½ tsp salt

  • For the Cinnamon Swirl (optional):
  • ⅓ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 ½ tsp ground cinnamon

For the Cinnamon Glaze (optional):

  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • 1-2 tbsp milk
  • ½ tsp cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease or line a 9x5-inch loaf pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the mashed bananas, melted butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined (avoid overmixing).
  5. In a small bowl, mix the sugar and cinnamon together.
  6. Pour half of the banana bread batter into the prepared loaf pan. Sprinkle half of the cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly over the batter.
  7. Pour the remaining batter on top and sprinkle with the rest of the cinnamon-sugar mixture. Use a knife to swirl the cinnamon sugar into the batter gently.
  8. Bake for 60-70 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. If the top starts to brown too quickly, cover it with foil during the last 15 minutes of baking.
  9. Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
  10. In a small bowl, mix the powdered sugar, milk, and cinnamon until smooth. Drizzle the glaze over the cooled banana bread.
  11. Slice and serve your cinnamon banana bread warm or at room temperature.
