Cherry Vanilla Sangria

A rich and flavorful sangria combines ripe cherries and a hint of vanilla for a smooth, refreshing cocktail. It's perfect for summer gatherings or a cozy evening.
Ingredients
- 1 bottle of red wine (750 ml), chilled
- 1/2 cup cherry liqueur (such as Cherry Heering or any cherry-flavored liqueur)
- 1/2 cup brandy
- 1/4 cup simple syrup (adjust to taste)
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup fresh or frozen cherries, pitted
- 1 orange, thinly sliced
- 1 lemon, thinly sliced
- 1 vanilla bean, split (optional, for extra vanilla flavor)
- 1 cup club soda, chilled
- Ice cubes
Instructions
- Prepare the Sangria Base: In a large pitcher, combine the red wine, cherry liqueur, brandy, simple syrup, and vanilla extract. Stir well to combine everything.
- Add the Fruit: Add the pitted cherries, orange slices, lemon slices, and the split vanilla bean (if using) to the pitcher. Gently muddle the fruits to release their flavors into the mixture.
- Chill the Sangria: Cover the pitcher and refrigerate the sangria for at least 2 hours, allowing the flavors to meld together. For best results, chill for up to 4 hours.
- Top with Club Soda: Before serving, remove the vanilla bean (if used), then stir in the chilled club soda for a light, bubbly finish.
- Serve: Fill glasses with ice cubes, then pour the sangria over the ice. Garnish with additional cherries or a slice of orange for an extra touch of color.
- Enjoy: Serve immediately and enjoy the rich, fruity taste of Cherry Vanilla Sangria!
Notes
- For a sweeter sangria, adjust the amount of simple syrup or add a splash of cherry juice.
- You can use sparkling water instead of club soda for a slightly sweeter and lighter finish.
- Frozen cherries work just as well and help keep the sangria cool without diluting the flavor.
This Cherry Vanilla Sangria is a deliciously unique take on the classic sangria that’s sure to be a hit at your next gathering!
